companies, designed a program to clearly and efficiently impact their management - a training program that facilitates the companies to incorporate
effective tools and modern administrative practices; permitting them to improve customer satisfaction, employee performance,  and organizational
control; reducing loss,  increasing profit, and becoming a more competitive business capable of offering quality service to tourists and fostering a
culture of continuing improvement within the organization.

Programa Moderniza 2011” in Catemaco, Veracruz was held in the Sala de Cabildos of the Catemaco Municipal

Earth Day
April 22, 2012
Defensores del Medio Ambiente de los Tuxtlas, A.C. celebrated Earth Day 2012 in La Casa de Los
Tesoros, arts and crafts store and café, and office of DEMATAC in Catemaco.  Earth Day, initiated by the
United Nations, has been celebrated worldwide since 1970.

The program included:
  • Showing of the documental film Documental “El Abuelo Jaguar”. This documentary was filmed in the Sierra Norte of the Mexican
state of Oaxaca, by native Zapotecans from communities of the Sierra Norte; principally the community of Cristo Rey La Selva,
    Lachixila.

The evening ended with a get together complete with refreshments and shared opinions as to what we can do, individually and in groups,
to preserve this environmentally significant region of Los Tuxtlas.
  • The theatrical presentation “Camalionitis Agudus” by Alddo flores, Lorena and Eleonora. This skit
alludes to the serious environmental problem caused by waste material.  Its dynamic used
principally actions and dance rather than dialog to call attention to the environmental disaster
caused by the tremendous amount of waste material produced by society and the lack of concern
we exhibit over the management of this material.
  • Eduardo Álvarez gave a talk and Power Point presentation on the
history of Earth Day and it’s ecological importance; including slide show
material of the organization “350”, presided over by environmentalist
and writer Bill McKibben; responsible for the organization of various
    global events regarding climate change.
